Rental FAQ

- How many people can fit on each boat? This is particular to each boat. Click on the boat of your choice to view its details.
- Will someone teach me how to drive the boat? Absolutely! We go over an instructional presentation educating our customers on the detailed operating procedures, the Georgia boating laws and regulations, Navigational markers, as well as Boater's safety and etiquette.
- Is it difficult to drive/park the boat? No at all! In fact, if you're a driver, you're a boater!
- Can one of your workers captain our boat? Unfortunately, this is not a service that we offer at this time.
- Do you allow pets on the boat? No.
- Do you allow grills on the boat? No, but there are several day use areas nearby that are equipped with grills and picnic tables.
- Do you allow kegs on the boat? Yes, but you must have a sober driver. DUI laws apply on the water as they do on land. Please note that the weight of the keg will contribute to the maximum weight allotment for the watercraft. Therefore, reducing the number of people allowed onboard.
- What size of engine is on each boat? The engine sizes are particular to the boat type. Click on the boat of your choice to view the details.
- Are the engines inboard or outboard? All the runabouts and deck boats are inboard/outboard and all the pontoons and party boats are outboard.
- What kind of damage/security deposit do I have to provide? We require a $500 deposit on all boats.
- What kind of information do I need to bring with me to rent? A valid/official driver's license and major credit card for deposit. Just an ID will not qualify you to operate any watercraft. The name on the credit card and the name on the driver's license must match.
- Is insurance provided? Yes, we do offer no-fault collision insurance. Please call for pricing as rates fluctuate periodically.
- Will my car insurance cover the boat? It depends on your individual insurance provider. Most insurance providers will cover rental cars but not necessarily rental boats. Contact your provider for specific details.
- Do the boats have covers? Yes, most do. The only boats we do not offer bimini tops on are the 18' runabouts and Waverunners®, of course
- Do they have restrooms on them? The 32' party cruiser and the 35' party yacht both are equipped with restrooms.
- Is gas included? Each rental boat leaves the dock with a full tank of fuel. The renter is responsible for the amount consumed.
- Do the boats have radios or cd players? Yes.
- Do you provide life jackets? Yes, the boats are supplied with all required safety equipment.
- How old do you have to be to rent a boat? 21 years old.
- On average, how much gas does the boat use? It is nearly impossible to quote an average fuel consumption because there are so many variables to consider (Usage, weight, water conditions, wind speed etc.). A conservative avg. would be about 5 gallons per hr. of engine time.
- Do you sell any bait? Bait is not available at the rental dock. However, there are several stores surrounding the park that carry bait.
- Do I need a fishing license and do you sell them? A fishing license is required. You can obtain one at a local store, or Walmart or K-mart nearest you.
- Where are the low areas of the lake? The water depth depends on the time of year as rainfall varies periodically. One of the dock hands will go over this information with you at the time of the rental.
- Where are the closest campsites? Red Top Mountain State Park has great camping facilities and is very convenient from our Marina by road and water.
- Where can I park my car if I keep the boat overnight? We have free parking in our Marina 24hrs/7days/yr. Round.
- What happens if it rains while I am renting a boat? We will issue a credit voucher (Boat Bucks) based on the amount of time lost that can be used towards the next rental. Boat Bucks will be issued only if the rain persists for more than 30 minutes.
- What is your cancellation policy? We require a minimum of 24 hrs notice (48 hrs on holidays) in order to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees will be waived ONLY if the following conditions exist on the lake at the time of rental; heavy rain lasting more than 45 minutes, lightening, tornado warnings, high wind advisories or any condition that Paradise Boat Rentals considers unsafe boating conditions. No call or no show will automatically forfeit the entire rental fee.
- Can I bring alcohol on the boat? Yes. There is no open container law, but remember, DUI laws are the same on the water as they are on land.
- Are there any additional costs? Refueling, insurance, additional ski equipment, and damages are the responsibility of the renter.
- Will a pontoon pull a skier? No, but they are fantastic for Tubing.
- Do you rent water toys? If so, what is available? Absolutely! We rent ski tubes, slalom and combo skis, kneeboards, and wakeboards
